I’ve been a maker for as long as I can remember. I grew up surrounded by art and craftsmanship—both of my parents are artists, and I spent more than 25 years working alongside my dad in his pottery studio. From him, I learned to appreciate the rhythm of working with my hands and the satisfaction of turning an idea into something tangible.

Over the years, I’ve had many creative lives, making modern vintage-style Putz houses, knitted accessories, and handmade clothing and accessories for children. Through it all, jewelry has been a constant. I’ve collected and worn vintage and handmade jewelry for as long as I can remember, drawn to the way a piece can feel as though it has a history, even when it’s brand new.

That feeling is at the heart of Pools of Light.

I’m fascinated by jewelry’s ability to transform the ordinary into something extraordinary. It can transport you to another time, evoke a memory, or become a small personal talisman—something beautiful to wear and perhaps a little lucky to have along with you.

I love designing jewelry and developing collections, but I love the making just as much. I often work in batches, repeating processes until the movement of my hands becomes almost meditative. I find something deeply satisfying in the rhythm of sawing, hammering, texturing, forming and assembling.

My work is inspired by ancient and antique jewelry, with a fondness for the mysterious and a little bit of magic. I’m drawn to objects that feel as though they might carry a story, hold a memory, or bring a little good energy with them.

Pools of Light is where all of these things come together—a lifelong love of making, a deep appreciation for jewelry and its history, and a belief that the things we wear can be beautiful, meaningful and just a little bit extraordinary.
